Explore the Web 2.0
Learning in the 21st century has a unique set of opportunities for educators and learners. Utilizing websites, games, and social media platforms to educate and collaborate will only strengthen the lessons being delivered.
Web 2.0 tools create, "innovation in the education system" (Kazazogly &Bilirs, 2021) which will draw the attention of learners. Tools that include gamification like Kahoot or Quizziz offer a competition style of review that keeps kids of all ages engaged. Educators can embed these tools into their Learning Management Systems for students to use on their own time. In addition to gamification, educators can utilize social media platforms such as Facebook to connect with other educators and parents. Through Facebook groups, individuals can find resources they might not have thought of before. Many teachers love to share their creations and lessons with others for the sake of sharing. A great tip I found was to use YouTube to find lessons already created. Students like to hear content presented through a different lens. If a teacher is using a flipped model, this can be helpful for individual viewing before presented in class. |
